First half of April - Apr 1st to 14th

I'm still catching up on the blogging, so here is another long post. First half of April brought a visit from mormor and morfar, start of City College parent-child classes (Squish, Splatter, and Roll, and a Nature Walk class), Ruby's birthday party (Isabella's little friend), among other things.

The kiddos were getting spoiled with all these visitors! First grandma and grandpa, then Auntie Simone and Aria and Mara (I forgot to take any pictures!) and then mormor and morfar!

Isabella and morfar.

Sebastian and Isabella with mormor and morfar.

Looking at the turtles and goldfish at the zoo.

He fits right in :-)

Waiting for the zoo train!

Morfar and Sebastian going for a train ride.

Isabella and mamma decided to go on the train as well.

Isabella is telling mormor about glasses.

Two sweet little ones!

Bubble machines are always a hit! This was at Ruby's birthday party.

'If you stand up, you'll be at least this big!'
Birthday girl Ruby and Isabella. They were due exactly a month apart, but Isabella took her sweet time, and Ruby was in a hurry so they ended up just over two weeks apart. Isabella is older, but Ruby is faster :-)

Hi!

How long do I have to stand here?

Happy cutie :-). Sebastian was running around, not easy to get a picture of him!

Santa Barbara has a lot of festivals! I'm pretty sure they have one or more every single month of the year. On the 11th, there was a Kite Festival. It was grey and overcast as you can see, and it was really windy, and quite chilly! But I bundled up the kiddos and we went to take a look. Sebastian thought it was pretty cool...

...but he would rather go down to the beach and go for a walk there. So we did. Even if it was cold!

This was from our Nature Walk class on the 13th. It was pretty much a short hike with kiddos and parents and a teacher who would try to insert some information about plants and insects and such along the way. Weather was gorgeous...quite different from 2 days earlier!

If there is water, kids will get wet! The wholes in this rock were used by Indians to grind acorns to meal a long time ago. This area still has tons of oak trees...although quite a bit of the area burned in one of the latest wildfires here.

Sweet boy :-)

Isabella had to hang out in the Ergo, which for the most part, she didn't mind.

One of Sebastian's friends, Kai (in th green shirt) from our playgroup, was on the Nature Walk too. Sebastian is usually pretty quiet around other kids, but he loved running with Kai and Kouki (Kai's friend)!

Squish, Splatter, and Roll class! First we glue.

And here is the result!

Then we were on to some painting.

The shape of the dots bear witness to the intensity of the stamping :-)

Gorgeous day, so Sebastian wanted outside. I didn't argue!

Isabella is definitely getting more mobile. She was all over this play structure. She still needed some help down the slide, if not she'll go head first and end up very unhappy.

Sebastian wanted to take Isabella for a flight up to the roof. Isabella wanted down :-)

This was on a smaller rocket (similar to the one in the above picture, but for one little person). Sebastian wanted Isabella to sit with him so they could go flying. He had a pretty good grip on her so she wouldn't fall.
