This has been a slow and easy at-home week. We've had a few rainy days (which we're happy about! Maybe we'll have less fires this year!) so there's been less out and about. The out and about we have had, has been in between showers and noticeably less crowded because of the rain. Today (Sunday) we got wonderful partly cloudy weather for Maya's birthday party (from the playgroup). It was supposed to be yesterday, but it rained hard and got postponed to today, which turned out great! I even have a few pictures, they'll be at the end, gotta cover the rest of the week first! Here we go!
Isabella texting :-p. She got the pretty headband from Heather, Quinn and Ruby's mom in the playgroup. Colors match her onesie perfectly!
We normally have a playgroup on Mondays, but there's been some new babies and various other things going on so we didn't meet this week. But since it was a nice and sunny day, Sebastian played outside in front of the house. He loves to track down "flowers to blow on."
I think it was last Easter that I bought a 2 dollar box of sidewalk chalk. Sebastian wasn't to into it for a while, but lately he's really liked making some sidewalk art outside.
These are stars.
The finished work (well, it actually continues up the stairs and onto the patio in front of the house). Notice the moons, several stars, and the yellow and white circle is the sun. I think there is a white planet in there too :-)
In the mean time, Isabella was studying the ceiling inside. She had to hang out inside so mamma could do some cleaning.
Then it was nap time :-)
Wednesdays we do an art class through the Adult Ed program at SB City College. They have some great classes there, and they are so reasonable. We've done several parents & kids classes (parks class, toddler times, baby jamboree). They're very laid back, great way to meet some other parents and kids. It's mostly a variety of activities set up and the kids pick and choose what they want to do. The only one we're doing right now is called Squish, Spatter, and Roll. All kinds of arts and craft options. Here are some of this weeks products :-)
First stop...decorate your own puzzle. Sebastian loved this. He really likes puzzles so this was perfect. He was very focused trying to put it back together again :-)
Here it is :-)
Then we did some printing.
He liked this too...it involved paint :-)
Glue and glitter from salt shakers. Whenever we go out to eat he wants to put salt and pepper in his hand and eat it. Getting to play with salt shakers was fun!
And some painting :-)
He did some bead stringing too (we are acquiring quite a bracelet collection). Isabella was increasingly interested and squirmy, so I didn't manage to take any more pictures of the processes.
Thursday, mellow hang out at home time.
Isabella's favorite stuffy is a little piggy. She likes to carry it around in her mouth :-p. Today she crawled over to her bed and loudly let me know that she could not reach her piggy!!
Isabella was sneaking in some quiet reading time on her own.
But as she was getting a different book out, she got snuggle attacked!
They both like their books :-) We try to get some reading in every day. Isabella loves to be read to right after her nap. She'll just sit on my lap and listen. Sebastian will take a book any time!
Friday...laundry day number 2 each week. Monday and Friday are laundry days. There's not room to do it once a week :-p. We don't have our own washer and dryer, but it's in our landlords house just a few feet away. It works well, since it's mostly sunny here, it's not really a problem to go outside for it at all.
Pappa hung out for a little while in the morning before work. We like that!
Where do you think you're going pappa?!?
Isabella has been having a bit of a hard time sleeping for the past few weeks. Here's the reason! Two top teeth, and one more bottom tooth coming in :-). She's done much, much better the last few nights!
Sebastian always likes to borrow the laundry basket stand. Easy toy!
But so much fun!
He got intercepted by the wee one. The drama!
Isabella practicing her Facebook profile picture taking!
And more snuggles :-)
Later it was off to work for pappa, and mamma and the kiddos went to the Farmer's Market and did the weekly grocery shopping. It was raining so the Farmer's Market was pretty quiet. We managed to time it in between showers. It started dripping as we walked back to the car. We were kind of last minute, it's from 8:30 to 12:30, and I think we finished about 12. That means that some of the flowers goes on sale, yey! $3 total for those beautiful Gerber daisy bunches :-) Smiley kid, priceless :-)
As I mentioned, we went to Maya's birthday party today. I didn't manage to take many pictures that turned out very well, but we had a great time!
Birthday girl to the right in the yellow dress :-). They were all playing with the bubble making equipment. They also got to fly kites, and have yummy cupcakes!
Well, kind of a long post, but that was our week :-) Tomorrow, new week, new month, more fun!
