Friday the 5th I started getting a sore throat, and it didn't get any better so most of this past week I was feeling congested and yucky. That meant lots of home time for the kiddos, which drives Sebastian a little crazy sometimes. We made up for it on Sunday though, when pappa took almost the entire day off and we went to Summerland and Solvang and did lots of hanging out :-)
The first few pictures were from the end of last week actually. I forgot to add them then so here they are!
I hope she'll want to play an instrument when she gets a bit older. Just not drums please!!
Happy whacking!
Guilty! But not really. He's got a lollipop in that box that he got at Maya's birthday party a few weeks ago. He doesn't want to eat it. Our child is broken :-p
Who knew dry chalk could be this messy?
Look mamma, I'm cleaning it up! He'd gotten a thin piece of foam from the bottom of the chalk box and drenched it in water from his water bottle. It was not doing a very good job cleaning :-p
Monday and Tuesday were uneventful, though we did go for a walk Tuesday evening, but no pictures.
Wednesday it was off to Squish, Splatter, and Roll again. Sebastian did a little bit of painting inside, but he really wanted to play outside. The weather was gorgeous, so that's what we did!
Isabella was enjoying some sand time. Notice the pattern in front of her feet, she was trying to make seated sand angels with her hands :-D
If it looks like a button, it is meant to be pushed!
Rest of the week, mamma mostly not feeling too hot, so not many pictures. Saturday pappa and Sebastian went for coffee in the morning and mamma and Isabella went to the Farmer's Market. Isabella mostly napped, but mamma got to get a few things, including some flowers :-)
It's amazing how peaceful and innocent they can look!
Sunday pappa took most of the day off and we all went to breakfast in Summerland. Then a quick stop at home to grab a few things, and off direction Solvang. A couple of miles from Solvang there's a big playground called Sunny Fields, and that was our main destination for the mid-morning.
Is this a cool looking playground or what! (Can you spot Sebastian? Hint: he's wearing a blue shirt)
Other view of playground. There was more too, I didn't take pictures of all of it. Really neat place!
They had several slides...never too big for slides!
At the moment he's content with these kinds of horses.
And so is Isabella :-). Initially she'll try to rock them really hard, but at least she's happy sitting down on them. I used to want to stand and rock when I was about her age.
We found pappa a new office even! He's in an important meeting with Sebastian.

Then it was time to practice some balancing. He did great!

And of course, swings! Isabella loves swings too, just like her brother did and still does.
Once it started getting toasty and time for lunch, we headed to Solvang to Paula's Pancake House for lunch, before driving home in time for naps. A nice leisurely Sunday! We like that! Next Sunday, Grandma Kris and Grandpa Walt are coming to visit for a few days!! We are all looking forward to that :-)
